I am Bimurtya Ganguli. I am a street and documentary photographer. I focus on social and cultural aspects of our world. I mostly work in projects and assignments. With a focus on raw,
unfiltered moments, my work explores the depth of human experiences and the communities that shape them. My photography often culminates in prints, books, and zines, serving as timeless narratives that bring light to stories of resilience, tradition, and change. Collaborating with various organizations and clients, I strive to create images that provoke thought and foster a deeper understanding of the world around us.
Travelling and exploring various parts of the world, with a curious and open mind is a key element in my photographic process. I believe documentation and storytelling transcends the
boundary of genres, and thus, my work ranges from candid moments, portraits to wildlife and landscape. My visual storytelling is always accompanied by written narratives that further illustrate and deepen the immersive experience.
I truly believe in the saying that if a moment was not documented, it never existed. With each passing day, the memory of many historical events gets blurred and distant. The voices of many get muffled in today’s noise and long-standing traditions face the inevitable change. As a reality driven creative individual, I aim to preserve the present for the future.
